Where do you start? Wigtownshire is a haven of creativity and adventure. For the book worms among us, look no further than Wigtown which has been Scotland's National Book Town since 1998, with a wide array of book shops offering both new and second hand books and a lovely selection of cafes and eateries to chose from, a whole day can easily be spent wandering round and I defy you to leave without at least one purchase!
If you're looking for a piece of history then the Whithorn dig is the perfect place where you will discover the site of the earliest Christian community in Scotland.
For the more adventurous among you there are plenty of adrenaline boosting adventures within easy reach. The thrills and spills of Laggan outdoor, where you can go on a segway, go water balling, grass sledging, clay pigeon shooting and on and on! Also there's Galloway Activity Centre at Loch Ken where you can go kayaking, sailing, windsurfing and do laser combat to name but a few of the activities on offer. Then there's the award winning 7stanes incredible mountain biking trails. We can provide secure storage for you bikes if required, also if you would like to travel light, you can hire mountain bikes from the Kirroughtree base of the 7stanes. There are many many attractions and activities in the area and this is just a tiny sample, you shall be spoiled for choice. Come and try, we're sure you'll want to come back for more!
